Thank you for viewing Hayden’s blog. This blog was setup to share news and events with family and friends about Hayden’s journey with PFFD. We are hoping it helps other familes with children that have similar birth defects. Early on in our journey we found much comfort in any article, note, blog, or email from families who had children with PFFD. We welcome any questions you may have and hope our story can help others.

Finally Learned how to Pedal a Bike!
I've been working with Hayden on and off to try and get her to learn how to pedal. She has a difficult time with it because of the leg length differance. If I had a welder I would have loped of the crank on her bike and extended it a long time ago. I've bought her a couple different bikes, but it seems like her little purple trike is the winner! She's had it for almost a year now and is finally getting the hang of it. This video was just taken this past Saturday. In this video she is wearing her Crocs, so she has to push with her tip-toes on her right leg. She still has a tough time keeping her foot on the opedal with her shoe lift but she's getting better everyday. I'm sure as time goes on she'll get the hang of it. I've noticed for some reason my voice in videos with my daughter somehow becomes very high pitched... like a gitty little girl or something. So please ignore Dad in this video. I was just excited to see her finally getting the hang of riding her bike.

Hi Rachel. It was so good to hear from you on my blog and I am ecstatic to know that I can be of help to you. When I first started my medical journey that was something I never had access to and I think it is so important to have a good support system (especially when it is people who completely understand what you are going through.) Hayden is absolutely adorable and in the best hands possible. I have been a patient of Dr. Paley's for 14 years and I wouldn't have it any other way. Please don't ever hesitate to contact me with questions and I wish you and Hayden the very best of luck with your journey. I know in my heart that everything is going to work out for you. Always, Kristen DeAndrade (kristenelisabeth104@gmail.com)
